Lord,
, Z' h+ u$ d# h! P5 E! n D5 u Vhaving transformed
- m, F: r3 l3 csunshine and soil and water and seed,
4 K( @8 L3 g6 g8 K: H/ B6 p! ?into food upon which we are soon to feed, 5 J$ w! |5 j& ]) ~. x
we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
# z8 s8 F9 f5 ~so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.0 h, K5 q, z9 d& _3 |. l
We who came first and are ready to dine
# w5 o$ ^2 _9 Q9 T/ Lthank you that we’re not still waiting in line, ! S9 D8 p' R7 I) [% l
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
, e6 h ]5 P) V+ Z9 V& W) owe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.& u+ K$ k- T6 R3 g/ z+ Y
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
& d, `, L/ d3 B! J# _3 v$ N- z: Hthe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.6 d. _9 ?7 ?9 m) O0 g+ q

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
U: L* S; S3 h) Z9 ^ [( pthe aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted . e% T2 x; R, Z5 k) F, ~9 Z
We thank you for people so generous and kind
