Lord, - \ H1 P' s6 v3 S
having transformed9 C1 {. ?+ P$ f+ J* k: n& Z
sunshine and soil and water and seed,
4 N, W. `* [3 j. d" I, @1 W f! Einto food upon which we are soon to feed,
( E4 ~4 e4 j- t2 _0 G }. ~we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
% P s1 @ W" M1 l5 \- Xso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
! o# M* G5 b- b- XWe who came first and are ready to dine
- L! J+ S3 x2 F3 k' bthank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
' h$ H3 s$ m2 y4 W5 gbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait, . v8 a8 K% J5 g0 i& f0 B$ M4 d4 m
we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.& p3 X7 q7 q7 z- C6 r! H5 O
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others ) } J, D( p5 C' O
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
