Footprints in the Sand

" r# y$ ?7 L" f/ ^- r/ [* y$ N* ^4 r- u+ tOne night I had a dream  V+ e6 X* i& S/ [
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.; r3 H! G2 S8 P( C6 b0 _- s
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
' j2 Y+ O! Q4 O/ {1 y9 {For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,; f' I9 ~% ?  S) e1 A$ R
one belonging to me' X3 X+ W+ t8 i. k
and the other to my Lord.
/ r; _# V. Z! n  x4 C8 N3 ?9 bWhen the last scene of my life shot before me$ r* H- s& \: m1 L
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.( O8 Q. @  G4 N$ r
There was only on set of footprints., R: O6 |5 B5 D/ b% B3 O
I realized that this was at the lowest
  a! v$ g5 j* Z9 ]and saddest times in my life.
: a2 s" f4 t8 U4 J9 NThis always bothered me
, R5 w8 F2 A- Q# I9 h4 h! D) Xand I questioned the Lord
/ b0 R/ m! N9 @4 jabout my dilemma.( W0 r0 W. j) P! R4 K: v
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
. W9 d* D( ]2 eYou would walk and talk with me all the way.
) z8 U& X2 ?  z6 {( u- @But I'm aware that during the most troublesome ( s# _6 S6 e( ?: K! T! S
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.0 m8 T! P9 B* t4 y1 m
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
6 T4 `! p  N2 @2 lyou leave me."" o- k1 v  A1 x5 P+ f0 \4 q: d
He whispered,  "My precious, precious child,4 N0 g6 T$ }7 S4 K8 q
