Lord, ' T6 M5 {8 J, ^6 @
having transformed
9 c1 B, L. `+ w1 f9 wsunshine and soil and water and seed,2 \- m% A7 R4 ^/ h! i z
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
% I: v- u% D, B+ bwe thank you for life and we want to stay well, - `& d1 N1 d/ p; _
so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.0 X/ M3 ~. O6 C g$ G$ h c
We who came first and are ready to dine
- F" s- P$ y$ @6 ^+ L: `- [thank you that we’re not still waiting in line, 0 f4 [. _& ?" y5 h
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
+ a2 ^* p! I- `( mwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.; C# d4 @- [: N" w
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
5 ?- z6 {4 R3 }8 @the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.2 Z1 p3 A9 e$ P0 u+ {0 ~ ^
Now,8 C/ a! x! t) r; g$ m' S3 \
We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
6 M3 E& x" G2 p4 W$ B( Hthe aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
! O9 K& m+ j! s( d) H7 {We thank you for people so generous and kind
R, M J& X3 t9 Rand thanks for all blessings in body and mind,
