Lord,
' Q g: v* |" B" fhaving transformed
8 _3 Q2 m, }% _1 }( _; Psunshine and soil and water and seed,
! O0 m/ ^' G( R- } E; a5 b" V7 ?7 jinto food upon which we are soon to feed, 8 k' f" i, j) l6 t( h2 w
we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
' y8 m9 r0 J% h) S% O: c0 Xso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
l8 y& I& i8 ?5 V3 I+ n6 i3 @We who came first and are ready to dine
1 Y0 G+ ? U! s, fthank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
: H! Q" N& a& o/ n: ~9 r4 a% ubut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
; @# |* [3 B6 r4 i) ^we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.& l; F# [/ r9 F
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others 7 L; m9 X) m% i, f* U" K- K% b
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.. O2 q1 ^& T a1 l

7 b: z9 B1 e* ]. wWe smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted 2 T3 k" e4 M8 m& o
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted 0 Y+ N3 A) h- y( u
