Footprints in the Sand

# V2 o; x# P. v+ ?- e& fOne night I had a dream. `4 f7 ~* P! o' B
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
% V4 [" }9 c% F: K9 aAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.' T5 F, w7 Q9 ~, C) d* ~/ e' G* t
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,! k' g* N( Q" w, p& v3 `1 O# _- P
one belonging to me1 L* a' |+ d  Y% [- k  I4 z/ ~. w8 H
and the other to my Lord.
6 W  @$ G8 S# `2 PWhen the last scene of my life shot before me
0 n3 k0 t6 f& N8 H$ g" r( CI looked back at the footprints in the sand.7 `- j# {7 `$ `* n
There was only on set of footprints.
; }5 A9 r7 X* a2 k# R# VI realized that this was at the lowest ! l1 Z/ |( L$ |& k" `
and saddest times in my life.
1 \+ }$ Q. \: H, }) j/ [9 \This always bothered me 3 D% N0 G- h* X  u$ z
and I questioned the Lord
0 d# V6 }, O0 D! A+ yabout my dilemma.
5 n% @$ Y% Q$ h  `4 b2 C9 E"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You," n. O- e  n: S# W/ w  |
You would walk and talk with me all the way." D3 ?# P" q7 v8 _
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
; A$ G/ l& ^7 N2 Ftimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.  V, W( N: w# F
I don't understand why, when I needed You most, / |% m- I! R1 x1 u( ~9 y+ X, [
you leave me."
: _6 O8 o+ K; V' W1 H) gHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,/ g0 k& }) S! V
I love you and will never leave you
