Footprints in the Sand
# Q6 x& m6 w5 N- [- s! P' @; u% k+ z2 N: T, W
One night I had a dream
' {+ C) K4 ?9 w4 r$ z, e  @) QI was walking along the beach with my Lord.. E6 M- V6 T1 H' t3 @$ t
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.# D* M5 ?* B' J3 @$ t. o8 M, Z
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,+ A) O$ [* H# |( q) T# Y2 Z$ Y$ T
one belonging to me7 t( k  L7 P% g5 ?9 \  ~$ C, Z6 q% i
and the other to my Lord.6 u0 J* F& g% z8 j/ F# D1 ^7 H4 S7 r9 @
When the last scene of my life shot before me+ v' a/ r+ o; ^. W( w1 K8 j6 i
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
. l7 |/ g2 V  w! i2 k% K7 _There was only on set of footprints.9 k1 Y, C4 d. N4 g7 Q: `9 e8 U
I realized that this was at the lowest 0 e8 A: w; u1 Y; b, V
and saddest times in my life.
& k# M3 L% c9 k3 \  D" R% ?0 WThis always bothered me
/ ^3 f6 U5 y) l9 Q& c/ zand I questioned the Lord( W$ U9 q, I% N. u# `, c  W
about my dilemma.  v/ j. K, f1 E. N  N- p
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
' V- T. u6 J; H, T/ j* PYou would walk and talk with me all the way.' K$ \. C+ G- {8 G5 ^) r* n) f
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
& ]- B2 k9 a- E- v+ gtimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.+ S- }5 a9 ]- T
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
/ Q6 B! v( n1 _  Fyou leave me."
) D; j, S3 b6 p: N8 ?: F+ v  lHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
. E& N/ U# a0 c( T  ^) y4 ^I love you and will never leave you" y* i3 m( \3 }! Y7 Z
never, ever during your times of trial and testings.
% P' X9 l5 }: q& e! q4 D0 W% ]When you saw only one set of footprints
; U! {/ O0 p2 }8 l$ Q2 k: n! V) PIt was then that I carried you."
