Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream
) J: Z% G3 E; J8 \* x7 ^8 GI was walking along the beach with my Lord.5 V+ F, L: @( {
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.0 a, Q6 r( h. c" i- |
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
% z1 [6 M) @8 p& @8 qone belonging to me
7 \3 n; H6 i' K$ o0 p" ]and the other to my Lord.
5 A6 @  f1 u' Y/ [When the last scene of my life shot before me
" F4 K- e( C. l7 ?I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
& s  V* ]8 Z' P) ?& MThere was only on set of footprints.6 n( U' S( A6 P' L8 B* D. V! K
I realized that this was at the lowest
5 Y6 o: Q" d- C0 m' `8 _2 \7 f9 Uand saddest times in my life.
5 @% y4 j( i( n0 f7 X5 s* fThis always bothered me
$ B+ w" A7 d1 }3 ~and I questioned the Lord
& C4 A/ G  R4 h$ Yabout my dilemma.
4 a: V; F- f9 f2 {2 d3 }" b"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,6 |/ o+ b) b2 k7 I# s* v
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
: |( W- a0 l  `! `But I'm aware that during the most troublesome 3 F2 }+ _3 g$ D9 @
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.
  y4 R2 b# ~- H$ Q- O1 bI don't understand why, when I needed You most, 0 u5 U+ l9 q8 k2 s. D  r, \
you leave me."
- H% Q" D! \$ V6 yHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,  I; B/ S7 }. \8 n! c
I love you and will never leave you' z9 {0 E$ L# A3 i+ M
never, ever during your times of trial and testings.
" M- k$ K9 e( U# ZWhen you saw only one set of footprints
" K- G* d* i! G& M6 z3 z4 x' BIt was then that I carried you."
