Lord,
) g9 t( i5 g- G- z! ~having transformed
e; t+ y: y3 B+ Q2 ^$ ~4 \- \sunshine and soil and water and seed,
% L! w# c- J) F+ t; ]into food upon which we are soon to feed, & |3 s5 u7 m& y+ W% u
we thank you for life and we want to stay well, / L( ?2 D3 f1 y! C: A
so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.6 H* L4 U$ Q3 @) n9 |% h& A6 Y
We who came first and are ready to dine
5 j! y M ]- ?% x! cthank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
' W q" C2 c. x; p1 g1 s4 M) Ibut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
4 I% X% @7 u2 I2 `( iwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
5 m& r; @& Y0 `: W4 C+ TInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
3 i1 f7 k. V g/ C. K4 `the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted 0 R6 x$ _# ]2 ^$ G9 D2 ^# s
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
