Lord,
( K; K' D" [. jhaving transformed
7 S! T; ^' c: J# |6 Psunshine and soil and water and seed,9 q7 A* h1 ?8 A/ u1 }! @! J
into food upon which we are soon to feed, % a; X( B3 W8 ?, z1 k
we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
5 Z+ w% W( u0 ?so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
; P M) r) E# d1 Y; u( b7 Z3 RWe who came first and are ready to dine# e! |7 T _2 m% }) s- N$ c
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line, ' P6 y6 {8 K) U: v0 G: q" K
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
& x# O- e& A- \6 [$ qwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.6 h- ?6 c, u2 s w; B
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
: A+ {" r4 o5 r% I1 z" Lthe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted 6 Z+ X0 @* Q4 p; v$ m" ~& f8 H
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted % l( D+ y: U7 n4 ?! Y+ R1 e) [+ A
We thank you for people so generous and kind+ M( z# `( W" ?0 }* `# Y
and thanks for all blessings in body and mind,4 P( P4 q* j5 I) X5 I1 }3 S
